About Us

What is WalkedThru?

WalkedThru is a specialist blogging community contributed to by professionals in their respective fields, which we like to call Walkers.

We plan to build a community brimming with blogs; subjects ranging from history, to sport, to places, to fashion, to hobbies, to books, to everything in between and beyond!

Why WalkedThru?

Because we’re anti-wiki. Pro-reputability.

We want to build a community as a source of information that is:

  • Varied and vast ranging
  • Informative and professional,
  • Yet easy going and personable,
  • That is informed by professionals.
We think that blogs are not just a great general interest read, but more so a fantastic medium in which to educate, inform, entertain and enlighten.

How does it work?

WalkedThru grows by adding professionals/enthusiasts, who have particular expertise in a particular subject, to it’s budding community of blogs.
We call these professionals and enthusiasts ‘Walkers’. (For more information on Walkers. Click here. or click the ‘Join Us’ page)
The more Walkers we have, the bigger the WalkedThru community will be and the better the source of information will be for the curious web surfer.

  1. Thanks for visiting carefreecomposition.com.
I appreciate your effort to cut down on the web clutter and to provide serious surfers with trustworthy sites. Although my own blog content is rather frivolous in nature, I do take art appreciation seriously. I’ll be back for a more in-depth look 🙂

  2. No problem at all, thanks for visiting WalkedThru.com!

Absolutely, that’s the aim, we hope our community will grow into a significant source of reputable and trustworthy information for people trying to find reputable and trustworthy content.

And that’s fantastic that you have a particular passion. We’re always looking for contributors, or Walkers as we call them, who are enthusiastic and knowledgeable about a particular subject to add to our community. Who knows you could be our Art Walker?

Thanks again Becky, hopefully when you do come back, we’ll have more contributors and content for you to read!

  3. Really cool concept!
I’m a recent marketing BBA grad and I can appreciate a blog that cuts out clutter and junk!
Good luck with the whole process.
I’ll for sure be back to check it all out.

  4. Hi Dolly,
No problem at all – It looks like you’ve got a great community yourself!
Thanks for the nomination, much appreciated!
    And thanks we will
    Luke ‘SkyWalker’ Connelly

  5. Thanks a lot Elizabeth,
It’s great to hear that you like our concept, and we agree with you that there’s not enough focussed and reliable content out there.
Now It’s just a matter of growing the community, by having contributors that are knowledgeable and experienced in there field, and having them contribute great content for us.
Your a Marketing BBA grad? Great! Maybe you could do our WalkedThru Marketing?! (Sorry – I had to ask!)
    Thanks again Elizabeth.

  6. What an interesting idea; I’ll keep an eye on this one. I’m trying to form a solid content base before I do any promoting, but I love what you’re doing here.

    Best of luck!

  7. Thanks Meg!
    That’s so great to hear!
Best of luck to you as well, with your idea.
Make sure you let me know more about in the near future – I’d love to see what it’s about!
    Thanks again

  8. Thanks for stopping by my blog! Very much appreciated! Ever consider having some content regarding vegan/vegetarian diets? I would be super interested in that!

  9. First I want to thank Skywalker for the follow. I will do all my best to give the educational information for the community to learn. Is no standard, no age, to learn.

  10. Thanks for stopping by and following – cant say I can help by adding anything specific as I’m way too random but appreciate your interest. Good luck with the concept.

  11. Hi the food and wine hedonist,

Thanks so much for your kind words.
Haha – well we do think your website looks great!
Shame though that it isn’t specifically about, lets say wine, and in a blog format!

  12. Hi Luccav
Thats great to hear that you like our concept!
And no worries, we like your blog too!
However we read in you about us page that you studied Ancient history – It’s a shame you don’t blog about that!
It would be the kind of subject that would be perfect for our WalkedThru community.

    Thanks again

  13. Hi From the inside out,

Thanks for stopping by us as well!
We would definitely be interested in a vegan/vegetarian blog.
We notice you have just kind of got started, but we would love to see how your blog progresses.
Maybe you could display the recipes, by listing ingredients and measurements, in a traditional recipe format.
I think this would be of great help to people looking to prepare and eat vegan/vegetarian meals!

    Thanks again

  14. I do have the sommelier training and the experience, but I’m not in the industry any more. I can still BS about it like no other, but I don’t drink frequently enough to keep up a wine-only blog. The only thing I blog regularly on is Guilty Pleasure music on Fridays. So I call dibs on that, too.

  15. Hi Luke

I have written a few posts on aspects of Ancient History and will certainly write more.

An interesting idea for your WalkThru. I will consider it.

    Thank you

  16. G’day,
Interesting idea, however, I would like to know how you are going to Promote this format to generate massive Exposure. ?
I am a Specialist in several areas but as yet do not have a blog or web site, is that a pre condition to participate in this venture. ?

  17. Hi Jason, Thanks a lot for the interest. The question of exposure is a very good one. Basically we expect it to be a gradual increase in exposure over time, in which we add more and more blogs. The more blogs and Walkers we have, the more people see their blogs and subsequently ours – a kind of compounding effect. We also have basic SEO and other marketing initiatives, like social media interaction, to get the word out there and increase our so called ‘Klout’ on the web. But saying that, we are young, but the reception we have received from people so far, has been fantastic and our traffic is great. So we are very optimistic about the concept, the brand and the potential of our community. And that’s great that you are a specialist – that’s exactly what we want of our Walkers to be.It’s not a pre-condition, but we can learn a lot from what an established blog tells us.Thing’s like writing style, actual content, and blog experience, to passion and commitment.Blogs are very difficult to maintain – every post can be like writing an essay – and to think that you have to do this several times a week, of every month, and potentially every year, is tough. So I hope we’ve satisfied most of the questions that you have for us.And if you are still interested, we would be enthusiastic in hearing back from you, and learning exactly what you would blog about. Kind regardsLuke ‘SkyWalker’ Connellyluke.connelly@hotmail.co.ukwww.walkedthru.com

  18. Hi. I am nominating you for the Thanks for Writing blog. Please go to my site for picture and rules. 🙂

  19. Hi, thanks for visiting and following my photo blog “In My View”. I like the idea of your blog here and will definitely be adding you to my blogs I follow. — Rob

  20. Thanks for visiting my blog. It’s an interesting concept you have here; I look forward to poking around and seeing some of the content you have to offer.

  21. Very cool concept, guys! It sounds like a winner, and I hope consistent content and growth will get you guys to where you want to go with it.

  22. Hi drewpan

Thanks so much for the encouragement!
I think you hit the nail on the head – consistent growth!
We need to consistently build a community full of helpful WalkThru’s, and only then can we can be a comprehensive source of informative and reputable content for our readers, as opposed to just a random blog site.

    Thanks again

  23. This is one wonderful idea!
I hope it will get better and better every day…

  24. This is a great blog. I love the concept, and hope to see it grow over time. Thanks for stopping my little blog, and I’ll be back!

  25. Thank you for following my blog, much appreciated! I think you have a great idea going here, and wish you luck in your endeavors! 🙂

  27. Really great concept here! Good luck, and thanks for visiting my blog!!!

  28. Hello, Luke, and all of you WalkedThru walkers! What a terrific idea for a blog set! I am not particularly comfortable with Wiki, and I often check their information with others. Now, I’ll come here instead! Luke, welcome to DiabeticRedemption.com — I hope you enjoy joining our group of readers! If you’d like, please find my Friends page, and leave a little, (or a lot,) of info about your blog. Please be sure to include your URL; my readers refer to my Friends page to find other blogs and bloggers. Glad to have you aboard!

  29. Thanks for the Follow… I don’t know what I can contribute here. I am a paper crafter and use my memories as inspiration for both my crafting and writing of the story behind the craft. At some point, I want to put this together in a book format for my friends and family as a kind of biography. I suppose I am like an old-fashioned story teller and I use my crafting as a way of bringing the story out. Occasionally, I will be crunched for time and only write a very brief acknowledgement of the past represented in the present craft. You have an interesting concept here; I look forward to watching it grow!

  30. Hello WalkedThru!
Thanks for following my blog 🙂 I would love for you to let others know about my running and clean eating blog! I am currently going through your fabulous list of blogs and finding a ton I am interested in. What an awesome way to connect people! 🙂

  31. Hi Luke,

Thanks for the follow on my blog! WalkedThru sounds like an interesting concept, I look forward to seeing how it will evolve. All the best,

  32. Love what you are doing and thanks for following my blog. So interested in people who can think and move from the maddening crowds to the next level. What is next?

  33. “We want to build a community as a source of information that is varied and vast ranging…”
I know next to nothing about practically everything, so I guess I qualify. Thanks for the follow.

  34. Thanks for following Squirrel and Pear. I’ll stay tuned to your community and look forward to seeing more cool stuff.

  35. A lovely idea!

“it’s budding community of blogs”—should read “its.” “Its” should be used for possessive, “it’s” for the contraction.

  36. Awesomeness!! Now I just need to go make sure you have one for inspirational/spiritual, so that I can join the club (and in fact I’ve been thinking that I want to start such a gathering space, but would be blissed out to know that someone has already done it!). Peace and Light to you!

  37. Ive nominated you as one of my top picks for the lovely blogger awards. Please go see my blog on a post regarding my nominations

  38. I love the concept of walkedthru! I plan on reading more from the gourmet food section. Thanks for the follow!

  39. Thanks for swinging by my blog! Interesting idea, anything that helps people wade throught the vast awesomeness of the internet is alright by me. Not sure I’m much of a walker rather a fumbler in the dark type (not in a weird way!)

  40. Hello Luke.

Thanks for dropping by. I like your idea of sifting through content (very much in fact – good thinking!). If I can help, drop me a line.

    Best wishes,

  41. Thanks for stopping by my blog and following! I’m looking forward to perusing your content and checking out all of your fabulous bloggers. 🙂

  42. Thank you for visiting my blog. I am glad you did – so I could found you -:)! I really like the idea and concept of your blog.

  44. Hi – great idea. Get in touch if you are interested in using my steadily burgeoning blog. Might be the sort of thing you are looking for!

  45. Hi, thanks for visiting and following my fledgling blog. It’s very exciting to connect with more and more people. I have been reading through the concept of your blog and am intrigued. The internet is daunting, so much information, yet often confused understandings and lack of dependability (I have experienced this first hand by innocently cooking recipes from the internet which have ended very badly!) Your content is very diverse so far – all the best filling in the gaps!

  46. Aloha, and thanks for visiting my blog! I like how you have invited folks with diverse skills, talents, professions, and special interests to join the group you’ve formed! Thank you, again!

  47. Thank you for starting such a great concept! With so much information readily available, well-curated collections and guides are even more invaluable!

  48. Thanks for visiting and following my blog. What a great idea! You really have a wide variety of topics already, I enjoyed checking them out!

  49. What a fascinating blog. Thank you for following my “Brainstorms: How Epilepsy and Writing Connect.” I am not a neurologist, nor any type of medical professional. I am a retired writing teacher, however, and a poet, and I put those two skills, if you will, together with 55 years of having epilepsy and have developed “Brainstorms.” It is mostly poetry about living with epilepsy. I’ll be having a more focused look around your blog.

  50. This a good idea. I am planning a few overseas trips, and I will remember to use the “Walkers” for advice. Thanks for visiting my blog.

  51. Hi Skywalker!
Thanks for visiting and now following my blog. Hope not to disappoint!
I really appreciate the platform that you are creating, very clever concept. Ill be sure to check in regularly.

  52. What a great idea! And what a special resource for people. It’s nice to have some place to find mentors who’ll try to help you.

  53. So, you see yourselves as blog curators, do you? Interesting concept, but a very big one too! Best of luck with it and thanks for visiting my blog.

  54. Hi! Thanks for following my anthropology blog. Sounds like you have a big job here. Good luck!

  55. Well, what a strange and interesting blog.
But how will you ensure that your content is true and reliable?
As a Scot, I am happy to provide info on Scotland, but as a Scot, I am naturally blessed with a sense of humour that may not always be in total harmony with the actual facts.
So I could do you a piece on the islands of Loch Lomond (see my blog) or the rare 3-legged feathered haggis.
Good luck and best wishes (seriously) and I will be back.
    Oh, and thanks for following.

  56. Hello Luke. Thanks for visiting and following my Swallow in the Wind blog. Hope you enjoy my bits & pieces of poetry & misc.
I’m not an expert in anything – unless you count forgetting things? I’m fairly knowledgeable about Saskatchewan, its history and its weather, but that’s not likely a big topic of conversation anywhere else. Best wishes for the success of your endeavour.

  57. Hi Luke, thank you so much for following my blog judysp.wordpress.com your support is much appreciated. I love your concept and hope it goes well for you. I am a follower now. Happy Blogging cheers Judy 🙂

  58. Hi Luke,

  68. Hey there…
Just dropping you a note to say “I hope my Blog didn’t over load your inbox recently’.”
I think I had something set wrong and as I was creating a post it may have sent out an email to every “follower” of my blog as I made changes. If this happened to you, I am so sorry.
And in case I haven’t said so yet…Thanks for stopping by my site.

  69. Hey WalkedThru! This is very interesting thing you’ve got going here! I know that this find is definitely going to help me in the future! Thanks for the visit/follow on my blog! =)

  71. Thank you very much for following my blog. I may seem whimsical at times, but I do put a lot of research into the things I love about France. My husband is a bit wearing of my growing stacks of books, brochures, and articles, but I do try very hard to get the facts right and certainly welcome corrections from my readers. I love the idea of your community of bloggers.

    Donc, merci encore! Best, Nancy

  72. Hello!

Thanks for following my blog. If you want a ‘walker’ on the subject of working on the water, then I’m your girl! 😉

  82. Hello Luke,
I’m impressed by your ideas and the concept of your blog is really extraordinary. I’m sure it will be a successful one and you’ll attract so many interesting, creative people.
Thank you so much for following my blog, i’m honored and your visit means a lot to me.

  83. I just found your site listed on a blog called Chasing Butterflies: Sunshine and Freedom. I really like this concept. I’m not really an expert on anything, except myself. But I will definitely be adding your link to my listing of Awesome Sites, and will be back to peruse your listings to see what kind of new blogs I can discover. Ta!

  84. Hello, Luke!
Thanks for visiting my blog and for following me. The WalkedThru concept is intriguing; it’s refreshing to find a site that respects “enthusiasts” as well as “professionals.” I look forward to reading more about WalkedThru and to watching your community grow.

As the song goes, “Passion is No Ordinary Word” and I have a few, but they’d been simmering on the “back burners.” Last year I reached a milestone birthday and also became a cancer survivor. A frightening diagnosis was a blessing in disguise; my priorities are now in order and each day is filled with gratitude, as I watch my life “come true.”

Thanks again, Luke. Enjoy your walk! Maybe I’ll see you along the way…

  85. Following me on twitter notified me of this blog. WalkedThru seems like a great idea that is allowing users to gain quality information.

I hope you give my blog a look atreatfortheeyes.worpress.com and would love to be featured on WalkedThru one day

  86. Hi there!

I wanted to thank you for being a subscriber to my blog and let you know of some changes to my site.

A couple of months ago, I moved to a self hosted site. While the link remains the same and I could move all my subscribers over without a hitch, I just found out that my WordPress followers like yourself would have to visit my new site and resubscribe to it if you wanted to keep receiving email notifications every time I posted (which I’m hoping you do!).

I just wanted to bring this to your attention. I’m reaching to all my lovely fellow WordPress followers because I’ve loved the interaction I’ve had with all of them even if it was just a plain old ‘like’!

Have a great day and happy holidays!
